This content is intended for care providers working with clients who have had a liposuction procedure and may be presenting with a lipo burn.
CEU credits are available currently for Physical Therapists in NYS and those states that accept NY-approved courses.
Credits are pending for massage therapists. Not guaranteed
Course content
All content is currently available. After completion of the final quiz, a certificate of completion will be sent.
This does not mean you are certified in wound care, it is a completion of educational course content.

Lipo Burn Introduction
This content is intended for care providers working with clients who have had a liposuction procedure and may be presenting with a lipo burn.
CEU credits are currently available for PTs in NYS and those states that accept NY courses.
Credits are pending for massage therapists but are not guaranteed at this time. Nursing credits may be considered depending on interest.
This course will focus on the following objectives:
- Students will identify the difference between faja and lipo burn.
- Students will identify the anticipated progression of lipo burn
- Students will identify appropriate treatment recommendations for faja and lipo burn
- Students will identify additional adjunctive modalities that will improve lipo burn healing.
Lipo Burns Change
In this section, methods of debridement are discussed. This does not certify you to perform debridement. Wound debridement is a highly trained skill that is not within the scope of practice for massage therapists. This is for your educational knowledge only and to have an informed discussion with your clients and to know when to refer to another medical provider.

This section discusses modalities that may not be in your scope of practice. This course does not certify you to perform these modalities. This is for your educational knowledge only and to have an informed discussion with your clients and to know when to refer to another medical provider.
